New design

Figure 1. Authors own.
I have decided that I want to create a blouse out of the floral shirt. This will be sleeveless with a high collar and I want this shape as I feel the structure will be similar to a riding top. I also want to add another piece of material to the waist so the shape of the body is more defined. I want to attach a piece of hanging material on this so that the structure moves away from the classic body shape. I aim to design a blouse that has elements of authority (as seen with the high collar) but feminine features too.
I have also decided to include a ruffle collar to mix the materials. It will be a cream, lace trim on the black knitted neck, so there will not only be contrasting materials but colours. I'm simply going to stitch this onto the knitted collar so that it gently folds over it. Below is a portrait of Ignaz's Semmelweis mother. Although the collar appears constricting, the use of white and the simple, nearly transparent material adds a more gentle side.
